2025 NHS pensions update – what you need to know

Investing in the NHS pension is one of the biggest financial commitments that doctors make in their careers. As of 31 March 2023, the scheme had 1.8 million members actively contributing, over 750,000 deferred members and 1.1 million pensioner members receiving their pension benefits. It is therefore an extremely large, complex scheme with frequent changes. In this update we cover some of the latest issues that doctors need to be aware of in 2025.
