There is “significant variation” in air ambulance provision across the country despite improvements in recent years, a study has found.

All 21 of the UK's Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) were assessed in a national survey by Dr Sarah Morton, pre‑hospital care consultant at Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, and colleagues.
