Alzheimer’s: AI eye-tracking system detects disease before symptoms arise

Eye-tracking technology has achieved extremely high rates of accuracy in identifying people with genetic mutations that cause Alzheimer's disease, a small study has found.

The ViewMind Atlas system uses artificial intelligence to analyse eye movements and detected carriers of the mutation with 96% accuracy even in people showing no symptoms, potentially years before dementia develops. It was 100% accurate for those who were already displaying signs.
