Bedside stroke test a step closer to NHS approval

A fast, life-saving genetic test that can prevent stroke related death could soon be rolled out across the NHS.

The bedside cheek-swab test, which can tell healthcare professionals quickly if stroke patients will benefit from the current first line treatment, has received a UK Conformity Assessed (UKCA) product mark, developers have announced. This can pave the way for its introduction to the NHS.
