The British Medical Association has failed to deny reports of a no-confidence vote against its England GP committee chair, whilst launching an audit into how controversial contract changes were handled following widespread criticism.

According to a Pulse story, Dr Katie Bramall, who was elected chair in August 2023, could face a challenge to her position at the 18 September general practice committee (GPC) meeting after local medical committees (LMCs) raised serious concerns about unexpected changes to the GP contract for 2025/26.
