BMA raises concerns for SAS doctors over new emergency medicine ‘workforce tiers’

The Royal College of Emergency Medicine’s new workforce guidance has come under fire from the British Medical Association for taking what the union called a “problematic” position on specialist, associate specialist and specialty doctors.

The doctors’ union has written to the college saying the “potentially damaging guidance” wrongly suggests that associate specialists and specialists need supervision from a more senior doctor.
