Brain signals could predict when obesity drug will stop working

The first-of-its-kind study has revealed how weight loss jab Mounjaro may suppress brain signals that are linked to eating control.

An experimental trial examined a 60-year-old woman with treatment-resistant obesity – who reported “substantial distress from food preoccupation”. She had electrodes implanted in her nucleus accumbens, a part of the brain’s reward system.
