Breast cancer cases set to rise 55% globally by 2050 - more than a quarter due to lifestyle

Annual global cases of breast cancer are projected to rise from 2.3 million in 2023 to 3.56 million by 2050 – a surge of almost 55%, found a major analysis in The Lancet Oncology.

Deaths are likely to rise from 764,000 to 1.37 million, according to the study, by the Global Burden of Disease Study Breast Cancer Collaborators.
