Doctors could withhold their annual fees to the General Medical Council over concerns about the regulation of physician associates, under plans to be considered by the British Medical Association.

Delegates at the BMA’s annual representative meeting this week backed a motion calling on the union to develop “a plan for fee withdrawal” if the GMC does not act on their concerns.
