Child's death from sedative prompts coroner's call for national guidelines

A coroner has called for national guidance on the use of propofol in paediatric intensive care after a 15-year-old boy died from a drug overdose following heart surgery.

Antonio Galisi-Swallow died in Leeds General Infirmary on 7 October 2021 after being given propofol for sedation following cardiac surgery.
