'Concerning' NHS inequalities for children getting on kidney transplant waiting list

Researchers have called for an urgent overhaul of early referral procedures after finding stark inequalities in access to kidney transplants for children on the NHS.

Analysis of 24 years of UK transplant data showed children having kidney replacement therapies from the lowest-income families have a 33% lower chance of being placed on the waiting list.
