Debunking the link between the gut microbiome and autism

Despite millions in research funding and a booming industry for dietary and wellness treatments, experts say that there is no credible scientific evidence that differences in the gut microbiome give rise to autism.

The idea that the gut microbiome may have a causal link with autism – perhaps explaining the surge in diagnoses – has hit the mainstream in recent years.
