Early intervention is vital for young teenagers with signs of depression say researchers who found that symptoms become more ingrained as adolescents grow older.

A network analysis found that interactions between depressive symptoms – like sadness, fatigue and a lack of interest – are less predictable in teenagers but become more fixed in adults.
