Doctor jailed for 3 years for moonlighting during sick leave

A former resident doctor has been sentenced to 3 years’ imprisonment after he defrauded the NHS out of more than £268,000 by working on-call and night shifts while on sick leave.

Richard Akinrolabu, 61, of Orpington, Kent, admitted four counts of fraud by false representation at Woolwich Crown Court.
