Doctor pressure group secures rethink over associate regulation concerns

Complaints over the General Medical Council’s planned regulation of medical associates are to be reassessed after the charity regulator agreed to look again at concerns raised by doctors.

Anaesthetists United (AU), a pressure group formed last year, alleges the GMC’s plans to regulate physician associates (PAs) and anaesthesia associates (AAs) breach obligations relating to the council’s status as a registered charity.
