Doctors call for end to 'demeaning' junior tag

A drive to abandon the description “junior doctor” has been agreed as part of a series of measures aimed at bolstering doctors’ professional status.

Delegates at the British Medical Association’s conference in Liverpool demanded a debate on the use of the phrase “junior doctor” and passed a motion requiring the BMA to cease using it.
