Two doctors found to have helped international medical graduates cheat on their NHS entrance exams over nearly three years have been struck off.
Dr Elmira Yaghmaei and Dr Hamed Salehi worked at Common Stations Limited, which provided educational courses for doctors planning to sit the two-part Professional and Linguistic Assessment Board (PLAB) tests.
The PLAB test is used to assess whether IMGs are able to demonstrate that they have the skills and knowledge necessary to practise safely as fully registered medical practitioners.
Yaghmaei was a director and Salehi was a tutor at the company. They were alleged to have elicited confidential information about the content of the PLAB part 2 exam from candidates and then used this to create and distribute teaching materials that gave their students an unfair advantage.
Salehi was also found to have promoted on social media that the company had achieved a 100% pass rate for the PLAB assessments.
