Early ultrasound recommended for all suspected endometriosis cases – NICE guidance

Women with suspected endometriosis should be offered an early transvaginal ultrasound even if their pelvic examination is normal, as part of new guidelines on diagnosing and managing the condition.

The new guidance has been issued to help speed up the lengthy diagnosis process many women face – with some waiting more than a decade.
