Expand access to ‘transformative' treatments for severe asthma, researchers say

Better access is needed to biologic therapies for adults with severe uncontrolled asthma, according to researchers who found that 66% of eligible patients are not receiving the “transformative” treatments.

Experts said this equates to around 37,000 people in England not receiving biologics, which can reduce hospital admissions, reliance on oral steroids and improve quality of life.
