Female surgeons spend longer on patient notes out of hours - study

Female surgeons spend more time updating electronic health records outside of working hours than their male counterparts, and spend more time per note, a US study suggests.

These findings have important implications for understanding the differential burdens faced by female surgeons, including potential contributions to burnout and payment disparities, the researchers said.
