First NHS treatment in England for rare eye condition after NICE backing

The first treatment on the NHS in England for a rare inherited eye disease has been recommended by NICE in final draft guidance.

An estimated 250 people could be eligible for idebenone for visual impairment caused by Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy (LHON).
