Former RCGP chair appointed chief medical officer in New Zealand

A former chair of the Royal College of General Practitioners has been appointed to the role of national chief medical officer for health in New Zealand.

Professor Dame Helen Stokes-Lampard, who is also a former chair of the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges, will take up the appointment in October.
