Dr Priyan Odedra swapped London hospitals for emergency medicine in remote Australia. He found exceptional teamwork, renewed purpose – and a powerful antidote to imposter syndrome.

Dr Priyan Odedra felt he needed a change. The London-based anaesthetist wasn't burnt out, exactly, but after years on the NHS "treadmill" he craved reinvigoration. "I never took a year away from the day I started medical school up until this job," he explains. "I wanted some kind of change, to add some variety into my life."
