Girl who is 'brain stem dead' kept on life support after legal appeal from parents

A schoolgirl who suffered a “catastrophic and irreversible brain injury” and was declared dead by a High Court judge must have her life support continued, the Court of Appeal has ruled.

The child, who cannot be identified, was declared to have died on 4 November by Mrs Justice Judd, who ruled that it was lawful for doctors to withdraw treatment.
