GMC imposes conditions on hospital’s obstetrics and gynaecology training over concerns

Conditions have been imposed on obstetrics and gynaecology training at North Manchester General Hospital to address “long-standing concerns” about training standards, resident doctor wellbeing and patient safety, the medical regulator has said.

This includes senior leaders reviewing weekly rotas for resident doctors to “minimise gaps” and mitigate against the effect of fatigue and workload, the General Medical Council (GMC) has said.
