GMC to appear at High Court for legal challenge over ‘medical professionals’ term

The British Medical Association is to begin its legal case against the General Medical Council at the High Court on Wednesday in relation to the regulation of physician and anaesthesia associates.

The union is challenging the regulator over the use of the term “medical professionals”, which it claims causes confusion, but the GMC has said it is "an appropriate way" to describe all the professional groups it now regulates.
