Gout drug may slash heart attack and stroke risk in those with cardiac issues

A low dose of a cheap drug commonly used to treat gout could slash the risk of heart attack and stroke in people with heart problems, according to researchers.

Colchicine – a medicine for treating inflammation and pain – is a first-line treatment for the condition on the NHS.
