Government to invest £2.3 million into smashing ‘the class ceiling in medicine’

There is a “long way to go” to smash the class ceiling in medicine, the British Medical Association (BMA) has told the government.

It comes as the Department for Health and Social Care announced a £2.3 million investment to support 2,000 young people from England’s most deprived areas to apply for medical school over the next three years.
