The family of a GP found dead at her home near the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk have paid tribute to her as a “kind, generous and loving” mother, who took “great care” of her patients.

Dr Hannah Cain, 45, was found dead at her address in Fern Hill, Dersingham, in the early hours of 4 October.

Her husband Mark Cain, 45, of Fern Hill, Dersingham, was arrested after the incident and later charged with her murder.

Cain appeared before Norwich Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday wearing a black sweater.

He spoke only to state his name, address and date of birth, and was not asked to enter a plea.

District judge Matthew Bone told Cain: “I send your case to the King’s Lynn Crown Court where you will appear tomorrow [Thursday] in the morning, and I remand you in custody.”

Norfolk police issued a statement from her family in tribute later on Wednesday.
