GP trainee wins national award for exceptional work

A Shetland GP trainee who improved care for vulnerable patients whilst strengthening links between local health services has been named 'GP Trainee of the Year' for North Scotland.

Dr Margaret Johnston, originally from Aith, will become a GP in Scalloway in January following her recognition for exceptional work at Lerwick Health Centre, where she completed her final year of GP training.
