GPs advised of change to maternal pertussis vaccine

The pertussis vaccine for pregnant women will change from the beginning of July to boost infant antibody responses to polio.

From 1 July, ADACEL (tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis vaccine (Tdap)) - a non-inactivated polio-containing vaccine - will replace Boostrix-IPV, the current jab in the pertussis vaccination in pregnancy programme.
