GPs 'likely' to start collective action against contract in April, BMA warns

GPs in England have been urged to reject the government’s “unsafe” contract in a BMA referendum which the union warned could lead to collective action within weeks.

BMA general practice committee England (GPCE) chair Dr Katie Bramall said it is “highly likely” action will start on 1 April if doctors vote against the changes to the 2026-27 GMS contract.
