Guidelines for iron deficiency cut-off points under scrutiny

The cut-off point for iron deficiency tests in primary care is being questioned in a new study.

In the retrospective cohort study, ferritin levels of 30 ng/mL (nanograms per millilitre) and 45 ng/mL were linked to "a substantially higher incidence of iron deficiency" compared with 15 ng/mL.
