Gynaecologist suspended for misconduct including using 'excessive force’ during delivery

A gynaecologist has been suspended for 9 months for misconduct which includes failing to recognise a maternal collapse and using excessive force during a delivery.

Dr Fakher Gendy, 74, was working on a long-term locum contract at the Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust between 2019 and 2021 when the misconduct involving four patients, in four separate cases, took place.
