Healthcare data should be under UK sovereignty, BMA warns

NHS healthcare data should be managed by UK companies, to avoid long-term dependency on foreign-owned platforms, a senior British Medical Association doctor has said.

Healthcare data resilience should be considered “critical national infrastructure, under UK jurisdiction”, according to Professor David Strain, chair of the BMA board of science.
