Heart disease patients who get shingles jab halve their risk of cardiac events

The shingles vaccine may reduce the chance of heart attacks and stroke in people at risk, a large US study has found.

People with heart disease who received a shingles vaccine had nearly half the rate of serious cardiac events a year later compared with those who did not get the vaccine, the study presented at the American College of Cardiology’s annual conference found.
