A series of uterus transplants in the US has led to 14 of 20 recipients giving birth to at least one live-born infant.
The women had uterine-factor infertility and at least one functioning ovary. They underwent uterus transplant from living or deceased donors between 2016 and 2019 as part of the DUETS trial, run by Dr Liza Johannesson, medical director of uterus transplant at Baylor University Medical Center, Dallas, USA, and colleagues.1
