HRT patches effective for controlling locally advanced prostate cancer

Oestradiol patches normally used as HRT treatment for the menopause are just as effective for controlling locally advanced prostate cancer as hormone injections, a large UK trial has found.

Men treated with the patches also had fewer side effects, researchers reported in the New England Journal of Medicine.
