Human case of avian flu detected in West Midlands

A person in the West Midlands has been infected by avian flu, the UK Health Security Agency has confirmed.

UKHSA has confirmed a person had acquired the influenza A(H5N1) infection on a farm, where they had "close and prolonged contact with a large number of infected birds".
