Doctors moving to the UK seem likely to be “fast-tracked” through plans to make migrants spend longer in the UK before becoming citizens, the government has suggested.

Under the new proposals set out in an immigration white paper, many migrants will have to spend 10 years in the UK before being able to apply for citizenship.
