IV antibiotics at home could save NHS up to £3,600 per patient

Treating patients at home with intravenous antibiotics rather than a clinical setting could halve costs to the NHS and free up hospital beds, a University of East Anglia study has found.

The study evaluated a novel approach where medication is mixed and loaded into elastomeric devices at home by trained nurses, rather than being pre-filled by hospital pharmacies.
