IVF linked to small rise in childhood allergy risk, study finds

Children conceived through assisted reproductive technology may be more likely to develop asthma, allergic rhinitis, or atopic dermatitis than those conceived naturally, a new study suggests.

Researchers analysed health records from almost 70,000 children born in Taiwan between 2004 and 2014. About 14,000 were conceived through assisted reproductive technology (ART), mainly in vitro fertilisation (IVF).
