Longer walks better than multiple short ones for reducing heart disease and mortality

One long walk a day may cut the risk of death and cardiovascular disease more effectively than multiple shorter walks, particularly in “suboptimally active adults”.

That’s according to a long-term UK Biobank study that found that mortality and cardiovascular event rates fell as walking bouts lengthened.1
