Maternity care disrupted by power cuts, leaks and faulty alarms, review finds

Clinical care in maternity wards is regularly disrupted by issues such as power outages, water leaks and faulty nurse call systems, a long-term NHS England review has found.

In the last 3 years there have been 14,519 formally reported instances in maternity and neonatal wards of disruptions to clinical care as a direct result of poor physical conditions, according to the report.
