Maternity services at Leeds NHS hospitals downgraded by healthcare regulator

Two NHS maternity services in Leeds have been downgraded to inadequate by the healthcare regulator, which found issues that pose a “significant risk” to the safety of women and babies.

Maternity services at Leeds General Infirmary and St James’s University Hospital have dropped from a previous overall rating of good after an investigation by the Care and Quality Commission (CQC).
