May's warnings over doctor misuse of dying bill dismissed by MP behind it

The MP behind the assisted dying Bill has rejected Theresa May’s claims that it could lead to cover-ups for medical mistakes after the former prime minister branded the proposed legislation a “licence to kill”.

Baroness May told the packed red benches of the upper chamber in Parliament that she fears the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill does not have enough safeguards which could see doctors abuse the system.
