Medical students sit on floor during lectures as class sizes surge, BMA warns

Medical students are forced to sit on the floor during lectures and take part in overcrowded ward rounds due to surging class sizes, the British Medical Association has warned.

Standards of medical education in Scotland are being put at “serious risk” from a sharp rise in students without the necessary increase in teaching staff, clinical placements or training posts, the union warned.
