'Milestone' gene therapy approved for haemophilia B

A new gene therapy for haemophilia B has been recommended for use on the NHS by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence.

The drug, etranacogene dezaparvovec sold as Hemgenix, eliminates the need for factor IX injections in many patients.
