New guidance for doctors on handling patient data

The UK’s data protection regulator has published new guidance for doctors and healthcare organisations to ensure they are being transparent with patients about how their personal information is being used.

The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) said the guidance incorporates feedback from health and social care organisations across the UK following a consultation earlier this year.
