New waiting list record as strikes loom

The NHS in England continues to target treatment for patients who have been waiting longest – despite record lists and looming doctor strikes, officials claimed yesterday.

In January, the NHS waiting list reached 7.21 million with more than 379,000 of these having waited for a year, according to the latest official data.
